LinkedIn carousel posts are a great way to share multi-page documents or a series of images with your audience. This guide will walk you through creating a carousel post by uploading a PDF through Assembly.
Overview
You'll learn how to upload a PDF document to Assembly and publish it as a native carousel post on LinkedIn. This allows viewers to swipe through the pages of your document directly in their LinkedIn feed.
Prerequisites
A connected LinkedIn account in Assembly. If you haven't connected your account yet, please follow the instructions in our Connecting LinkedIn article.
You must be an admin or owner of the LinkedIn Page you want to post to.
Your PDF file must be ready and meet LinkedIn's specifications.
Before you begin
Once a carousel is published, you cannot edit the individual cards (pages) of the document. Double-check your PDF for any errors before uploading and publishing.
Steps
Navigate to the Post Composer in Assembly. You can do this by clicking the "+ Create New Post" button on the calendar view.
Select the LinkedIn profile or page you want to post to.
In the composer, click on the "Add Attachment" icon and choose to upload a document.
Select the PDF file from your computer that you want to share as a carousel. Make sure it adheres to the file size requirements for LinkedIn.
Add any introductory text you want to include with your post in the text editor. You can also @mention people or companies as described in our LinkedIn Tagging article.
Once you are happy with your post, you can either publish it immediately or schedule it for a later time.
Verify the setup
After your post is published, visit your LinkedIn page. You should see the post with the first page of your PDF visible. You will be able to click or swipe through the pages of the document directly on LinkedIn.
Troubleshooting
Carousel not appearing: Ensure your document is a PDF. LinkedIn carousels are created from document uploads. If you uploaded a different file type, it may not display as a carousel.
Upload error: Check the file size and format. LinkedIn has specific file size limits for document uploads.
